When I tell people about this stop motion musical detective game I’m making, the most common reaction I tend to get is “What? How does that work?” And I’ve found, time and time again, that the easiest way to answer this question is to say, “Well, here, let me show you,” pull out my iPad, and run a build of the game that they can play themselves. Once that happens, the quizzical puzzlement almost always gives way to gleeful excitement followed by an “I can’t wait to play the rest!”
Sadly, I can’t pull out my iPad and show this game to everyone, [1] so I’ve decided I’d try the next best thing: an online playable demo! Unlike the final version of the game, which will be downloadable/in app form, the demo runs in-browser via Flash. It should give you a decent enough idea of what to expect, though.
Anyway, without further ado, you can go right ahead and play the demo here! And then, if you haven’t already, contribute to the Indiegogo campaign so I can finish the rest of the game!
EDIT: Just uploaded a new version with bug fixes; if you were having trouble with characters walking offscreen after tab-switching, it should be fixed now.
ANOTHER EDIT: Resized the game so it better fits smaller screen/browser window sizes.

That footnote makes me think of the person in h2g2 that insults literally everyone.
The demo is great!
I can’t wait to see the rest.
