The Return of Oprah’s Browser Club
June 20th, 2006Opera 9 is out, and GMail works perfectly in it. This makes me very, very happy. Now, there’s absolutely no reason for anyone not to use Opera, so ha!
Except… if EVERYONE used it, then it would probably end up like Internet Explorer, Windows, and everything else that’s practically ubiquitous, meaning that more security vulnerabilities would be exploited in it. So really, I don’t want everyone in the world to use Opera. I rather like my status as a Web-browsing minority, thank you very much.
I would, however, be a lot happier if people stopped acting as though Firefox were the only alternative Web browser in the world.

Yeah, especially those people who THINK they can act!

I’ve been an Opera user since version seven - which I even paid for!

Thou truly art a better man than I.
(Well, duh. I’m not even a man. But you know what I mean.)

Uhm… just a pointer. You said OPRAH’S browser club. But the browser is called OPERA. Is that supposed to be funny, an accident, or a sign that you like Oprah? Or has Oprah started a browser club?

It’s supposed to be funny. I never make mistakes.

That’s semi-reassuring. I’ll trust your not grasping at the last strings of your unmistakable integrity.
