Ooh, more news!

March 24th, 2006

Guess what, everyone? I’m going to be doing an eight-month programming internship at Telltale Games this summer! Considering how much I enjoyed Out from Boneville and am looking forward to their Sam and Max games, this bodes quite well for me. It also means I’ll actually be breaking into the game industry as a professional. Joy.

Thus, a bit more than a month from now, I’ll be packing my bags and moving from the Great White North[1] of Canada to the sunny expanses of California. I expect to be bombarded with several people inquiring as to whether I actually say “aboot” and whether our Parilament building is, in fact, a giant igloo.

Anyway, on to some TGTTPOACS-related news. I’ve put up a ZIP version of the game for those of you who are allergic to Windows installers, and have linked to a walkthrough written by one of my awesome beta testers, Len Green. However, given my seething hatred for walkthroughs, I forbid you all from using it.

Footnotes:
  1. This is somewhat ironic, since I live in a place where it doesn’t snow… well, except for about a week every year when all the kids get overly excited and everyone else seems to completely forget how to drive properly.

Comments for “Ooh, more news!”

  1. Rikard Says:

    Congratulations. :)

You don’t have snow? We *still* have heaps of it around, showing no signs of the spring sun melting it away any time soon. I have neglected to make a snow man this year, though. Partly beacuse it’s been too cold to make those. (For those reading this unfamiliar with snow: It has to be around zero degrees Celcius in order to create things with snow. Too cold, and it won’t stick together.) But there’s still time… Maybe I’ll get to it before the snow melts away.

  2. Kejero Says:

Allright! Go Deirdra! Go show em how to make games! :)

  3. Ryacko Says:

8 months is summer? That’s most of the year!

  4. The Management Says:

Well, I meant it starts this summer… and just so happens to go on until Christmas or so.

  5. Erwin Broekhuis Says:

Congrats! How did you manage to find a place to live in California? Isn’t it very expensive and hard to find, and stuff?

  6. Kejero Says:

She probably threatened to blow up the Baldwin residence. She’s Canadian afterall.

  7. The Management Says:

More like I threatened to spill maple syrup all over the Baldwin residence. Canadians are too nice to blow things up.

Seriously, though, it is very expensive. I actually haven’t found a place yet (right now, getting my work visa takes top priority), but I’ll likely be renting a piddly little room or something. (P.S. if anyone reading this lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and wants to rent out a room for real cheap, contact me!)

  8. Len Green Says:

My youngest child (daughter, 47 y.o.) lives in Irvine, California with a husband + 3 ‘kids’.
So you can *seethe* away there as much as you desire… hee-hee :~ ))

You certainly deserve ‘recognition’ for your great talents.
IMHO, “TGttpoaCS” is even better than “Cubert Badbone”.
    CONGRATULATIONS and enjoy!

Sincerest best wishes for your next 20 years! … Len Green.
